Right-click on the image in Acoustica CD/DVD Label Maker and select "Top-left pixel is transparent color."
Warning: this will not work well with JPG images because the JPEG compression algorithm results in pixel values being changed to something that's almost, but not quite, the exact background color, so they won't get recognized as being transparent pixels.
